For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
Romans 15:4, KJV
We all know the benefits of reading the Bible - that it reveals God's will, speaks powerful truths, and guides us in our time of need. We know that our spiritual life is enriched by being washed in God's word. Then why don't we all do it daily? It can be challenging to not only make time for daily Bible reading, but to keep moving forward in our Bible study.

Research has shown that habits can be built through diligence and discipline. A habit begins with a cue which triggers a craving. We engage in a behavior and receive a response to our craving which rewards us and forms a connection that we should remember this action in the future. We can use this understanding to build healthy Bible study habits.
Everyday moments challenge us all the time. We know that our time in this world is limited compared to what awaits us in eternity. We crave salvation and the all-encompassing power of God's love. As we read the Bible we are filled with the Holy Spirit which then guides our choices and actions.
